Bao Buns

1/2 cup of warm milk

1/3 warm water

1 TBSP of active dry yeast

4TBSP of sugar

1 TBSP olive oil

2 1/2 cup of flour

1/2 tsp of salt

1/2 tsp of baking powder

Combine milk, water, yeast, and 2 TBSP of sugar

wait for 10 minutes until frothy

Add olive oil

In another bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder, and 2 TBSP of sugar

Add your yeast mixture into this bowl (Combine your wet and dry ingredients)

Knead until a dough is formed

Add the dough to a lightly greased pan, cover and let rest for 2 hours

Do not punch out the air in the dough

Gently roll out the dough into a quarter inch thickness

use a cookie dough cutter or the lid of a cup (make sure it’s at least 3/12 inches) Cut out your buns

lightly brush the tops of your buns with a little bit of oil

fold the buns in half on the greased side

Let them rest for another 30 minutes

Steam the buns for 9 minutes
